Clyde finance

  • I have been scammed by these people, after i paid their fees and admin costs my phone number was suddenly blocked, i used my husbands phone to call them as soon as i said my name they cut me off and now my husband's number is also blocked. I have phoned the police and have reported them to the Fraud Investigation Bureau, I strongly suggest that everyone affected does this because then the fraud people will do something about evil people like this, who prey on vulnerable people who are in a deperate situation, the only way to stop them is to report it again and again.

    Can anyone help ?

I received a phone call from a company called Clyde finance a couple of days ago offering me a loan. I had gone through the dreaded yes loans so thought perhaps it was one of their lenders. After a long conversation to a foreign call centre the man said my loan was for £5000 and if I completed to paperwork I could have a loan by the end of the month. I asked them to email me and the paperwork.it. was very strange paperwork but I had to apparently complete it and scan it and email it back.
I decided that I wasn't happy to do this and today I got a call from the same person who I spoke to originally saying I needed to get to a library if I didn't have a scanner as I couldnt have the loan if I couldn't email them my forms.
Has anyone heard of this company before ? Are they genuine ? Or rogue traders ?
    Your help would be appreciated.

DONT DO IT !!!!!!!!! they will next ask you for £110.62 and when you pay it they will then block your number, get out now while you have only lost £50 not over £300 like I have. Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE report them to the Fraud Investigation Bureau.

The payments are to be made to 3 different people, all in India and all with different "Job Titles" it should have rung alarm bells but when you are in a desperate situation you do things that don't make sense.

There is also another "company" calling me, also from India, also asking for the first month's payment in advance, if they call me again I will also be reporting them.

    DON'T DO IT!

    In their T&C's:
....In order to carry out some of these services, there may be the requirement to obtain some personal and financial information from you. This may be passed to potential service providers who will in terms respond directly to you with the terms that they are prepared to offer.....

With other words you are dealing with a broker that will charge you for their 'services' up front. I also would be very careful as they do not give out any contact details. Any serious company will give you the company postal address, phone number and company registration number.
You will never see any money from them.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

I am so angry today and i have decided to help those people who are having their doubts about this company called "clyde finance" and need some advice. yesterday, i get a phone call from clyde fianance, i was at work and told the bloke i would ring the company back later . when i phoned the company it was strange how there was no call center advisors on standby to assist me to the relevant department, all i got was a answer and it was "this is clyde finance can i have your name plz".

Now i do have a poor credit history, i had tryed just about everywhere for a loan of 5000 pounds and was refused striaght away. i came across their website. it looks so genuine, they helped people with a poor credit rating ( by ripping them off ). so this bloke was trying to tell me that i could get 5000 pounds with a 6.9 apr over 24 months total paying back 5344 or something like that. sounds like a great offer i thought, i kept thinking this sounds to good to be true, but like someone said on this thread "when your desperate you will do anything".

Anyway this bloke going by the name Brian, told me i had to make a payment of 75 pounds in order to set up the account, and if i did make this payment yesterday (6th april) i would have the money in my account in 2 hours, he also sent me a contract by email. and said if you attach the following info: copy of passport, bank statement, and some other stuff,LUCKILY I DIDN'T, he told me to write back the monthly payment which he calculated for me, that was 222 pounds and he would get it authorised if i didn't have scanner. I felt like i was getting pushed into doing everything so fast. so he told me that his manager by the name of chris austin was on business in india and he would collect the account set up fee from there and the money would be in my account in the next 2 hours.

I had some issues with western union local branches as they were down on that day, i guess that was a hint in itself, i told him i have never ever gone to a western union branch to send some money abroad in order for me to get a loan. as i am writing all this and reading through i'm thinking all the signs were there for me to realise that this was a CON but it just happened so fast and i wasn't thinking it through enough. i managed to make the payment.and when i gave "Brian" the western union code in between i was thinking don't give it to him. but i fell for it. he now had 75 pounds of my money. so now he said he would phone me in another 20 mins, he had to speak to his "loan account supervisor", so 20 mins later i get the phone call to say that i would definitely get the money tomorrow morning and that he would phone me to make sure everything was fine. Next day i was checking my bank acc, and there was no 5000 pounds, i get a email from "clyde finance" to say that i had to make a 1 month deposit of 222 pounds in order to get the money in my account, i knew from there i was scamed.

I phone the company and guess what it seems there was only one person in the company who has 20 different names. he tryed to convince me this was not a scam, and was telling me the reason why it was a low apr was because "clyde fianance" didn't have to pay any taxes to the UK government because they are based in India and they pass these savings on to the customers. I told him that he was a Con artist and to burn in hell.

Every time i asked him a question he would say "that is a very good question" like he cared.

SO PEOPLE PLZ DON'T GET FOOLED INTO IT LIKE I DID AND LIKE MANY OTHERS.
THE GOOD THING THAT HAS COME OUT OF THIS AWEFULL EXPERIENCE IS I AM TELLING OTHER PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY FROM THESE SAD PATHETIC PEOPLE. I ONLY HOPE YOU WILL TAKE HEED.
