30k in Premium Bonds which i want to reinvest

hi after reading a couple of threads and topics i have seen that my 30k in P-Bonds are proberly the worst place for my money.... i have held them for approx 15mths

ok i have used my isa allowance up, i also have a first direct e-savings account which has a sum in which i have r85 tax relief on intrest 4.75%

i am a none worker due to disabilty and dont claim benefits apart from DLA (which is not means tested) I want my money in the right place but dont want it away from me more then 1 year at a time

what would you do with the 30k? i dd a quick tally up i can get r85 tax releif on this as well as it still be under £5035.00 intrest in total

    I presume you mean save and not invest

    Max interest you could expect is about £1580 gross with allied irish bank 1 year fixed rate bond paying 5.85%

    If thats your aim, why are you looking at Premium Bonds?

    Or is your name really Gordon Brown as he makes lots out of Premium Bonds.

    How much risk are you prepared to take - if you invested the money, what would be the maximum % decrease in value you would allow before "wanting out"
    Eg if its value dropped 20%.

    i would say my risk factor would be on that amount avarage

    10K = 20-25 %
    10k = 10% maybe up to 12.5%
    10k = i rather no risk on this

    i am looking to taking out my P-bonds after Dec Draw

    There is a anniversary bond draw in december with more prizes so you might want to leave them in for that.
    You would probably take them out just after a draw anyway

    How have they done up to now?
