No claims years

Hey folks, just looking to see if anyone has a quick answer to this.

I'm currently sorting out buildings and contents insurance for my new flat. Insurers are asking how many years previous buildings and content cover I've had. The answer is 4 years for contents (continuously since 2007) and buildings for 3 (2007-2010). I've not had buildings cover for the past year as I've been in rented accomodation.

Should I say that I have 3 years previous buildings insurance, or would insurers not count this now as there has been a break for a year? It makes my premium cheaper having the 3 years, but I don't want to take the chance that they use it as an excuse not to pay a claim, should I ever need to make one.
