Emailing an offer?

I am about to make an offer on a house in England and wondered if there is any problem making that offer via email rather than with a phone call? The reason for this is that I can list my supporting argument for my offer logically and without forgetting anything important.
Are there any pitfalls to avoid with making what is in effect a written offer?

It's just a bit slow and there is always the chance they miss it. You want an immediate acknowledgement rather than hours of nail-biting for a reply when the mail has been sat in their inbox all afternoon.
I would make yourself a little list of bullet points as prompts for the phonecall. Use it before you give them the figure.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

This is under the asking price because ....
I have looked at house sold data for the street and the asking price is y% above previous sale prices.
I am in a good position to proceed with mortgage in place, no chain, and I can arrange a surveyor as soon as the offer is accepted.
My solcitor will be Mr X of Xtown.

I made my offer by email with no problems. I told them beforehand that I was considering making an offer and asked whether I could email it to them.
What was your "supporting argument", out of interest? Unless it's to the point, it may not come across well.0
