  • I peeled to many potatos to eat the other week. Wife put the excess peeled potatos in some water and left them on the kitchen counter. Next day I made chips out of them and I swear they were nicer chips than usual! Wife says she should have put them in the fridge tho! ;)

Maybe you could have a community rumbler, and all rumble your potatoes at once? :rotfl:

  • no it was definately a catering one i presume they do different sizes don't know where it was from your'e talking of 20 yrs ago but am sure it was a hobart. we used to do carrots in it also these were easier as unlike the potatoes you didn't have to check for eyes!!

    HI

Would it not be similar to the kenwood chef potato peeler attachment?

Mmmmmm, best chips are made with potatoes put in icy water overnight. Very scrummy!!

  • If you use a potato ricer you don't need to peel them at all - just put the chunks of potato in the ricer, the "mash" comes through the holes and the skins stay in the ricer.

Really? I might give that a try some time. Feels a bit impracticl for everyday potato'ing though!

Great sig by the way, most humourous!

  • I have a rumbler! Lord knows how old it is but it is a plastic contraption that looks like a wok with a lid but fatter, it has rubber suckers and lives in the sink and is powered by water pressure that turns it and washes the peelings down the plug hole as well. It is called the "Duchesse" *patent applied for* and actually works a treat (Unless you forget it and find it has peeled everything to nothing) Quite a few peeps have tried to scrounging it of me but it ain't going, its mine all mine - My precious LOL

PS. It is great for all types of root veg too.
