Fit an internal door?

Options
How much roughly should I be looking at to get an internal door fitted if I supply the door and also the handles?

Ive had one quote back which was £85. I have since emailed back asking how much the quote would be if I was to have 4 internal doors fitted. Not sure if it would work out better in the long run to get all the doors done at the same time.

  • it will work out better if you had all four done, as he will do them in a day, maybe itll only cost you double...Its worth finding out what he says..

As above, the guy has got to charge for his time, which includes travelling to your house. Actually, that quote is not too bad really ( especially if it includes fitting the furniture - handles, hinges, locks etc.)

There's nothing difficult about fitting a door, but it's time-consuming and fiddly to do it properly. If you're DIY-minded it's perfectly possible to do it yourself, but as I say it's just a lot of fiddling around to get it to fit nicely.

Jeezo is that £85 to fit just one door:eek:

Up in here in Glasgow you can pay anything between £20-£40 to fit per door, the £20 being a handy man fitting it.

£85-00 for one door is a fair price and most chippies would hang 5-7 in a day depending on what condition the linings are in. So that would make each door around £30-00 ish which is good........ If you get them all done in one go it will work out more economical.

If the guy has to travel 15 miles or so just to hang one door for you and then has to pack up all his kit and move onto the next job he may only get 2 done a day........
