I am currently paying BT a month £12.35 I think it is after £1.25 papper free
and im paying £6.20 a month for the anytime calls package.
so £18.55 a month!!
I see on the site you can pay upfront £120 a year equivalent to £10 a month+have the anytime calls free for 3 months then £5 (all new 12 month contract)
I can see by logging in to my account i can change my plan to the 3 months free anytime,,but cant for the line rental, can existing customers do this??
also if i can, will it cost me £120 or have i not already payed my line rental for the next 3 months inadvanced with them, just had my 1/4 year bill,,and will this be knocked of the £120??
thanks for the help

The Unlimited Anytime calls plan is £5/month (due to drop to £4.70 next month).
Whether you need that plan depends, of course, on what calls you make and when you make them. As a comparison, if you were to downsize to the (free) Unlimited Weekend plan, you would still be able to make 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 calls of up to 60 minutes each for no additional charge at weekends. Do you need to make them at other times?
The £5 you pay would buy you 100 calls to 01, 02 or 03 numbers via 18185. Do you make that many such calls during the week?
If you opt for Line Rental Saver, you will lose (probably permanently) the £1.25/month paper-free discount. In the first year, that reduces the alleged saving by £15.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
The 'Unlimited Evening and Weekend' plan is still available for no extra charge, if that helps?

I see,,i dunno i dont make that many calls but ,i do make calls in the day when i do,,its mainly phoning family 01,and maybe, maybe if i give you my last quarter/3 months breakdown
0845/0870 numbers 16 with 11:41 duration
other calls,0844/0871 6 made 46:13 they came to nearly £4
and 139 local calls included in the package.
it does seem a lot of these calls are day time prob 70%
what im trying to do is just get costs down a little,i looked at primus line rental but i keep reading complaints about them.
i then thought about sky,line rental,anytime calls and bb unliminted,for £26 odd a month.Dony worry,be happy...0 -

This sounds like the one I agreed to yesterday i.e. £3 month all calls and £120 line rental paid upfront. Contract is 12 months.0 -

Still never got round to sorting this out, been working so much lately and had a few personal issues, but im ready to lower this now.
So far ive rang BT who said they can do the anytime plan for £2 a month,he said i pay £4.70 for it at the momment, but my bills clearly show £6.20 a month,he didnt know.
he wasnt sure if my paper free billing would stay,im hoping that would,,he never mentioned its a auto renewal contract until i asked him, even then he only said it was a 12month only,,untill i asked is it auto-renewal.
anyway,i said i would call back, and im to just mention the £2 anytime deal.
he then said do i use call mobile,i dont ring mobiles, and said thats £1.50 and could save me on that,i never took this out in the first place,,that would explain the £6.20 ive been paying the 4.70 + 150.Dony worry,be happy...0 -
sorted,i was getting the call mobile free as that was what i got at the time.
ive just resigned up,was paying £19.80 a month (£18.55) after my paper free billing now paying £14.35 a month for same package after paper free taken of.
im happy with that,as iv got the anytime package for £1.70 a month, over the £6.20 ive been paying for years.
I should of done this sooner, but things get in the way.Dony worry,be happy...0
