As much as i would like it to, i really dont think this will work. The price you pay for the eggs is the actual price on the day you get the delivery. So from tomorrow the eggs will be £2.50 each, not £1.00.

For example, today you put 12 eggs in your basket (12 x £1.00) - total £12.00, then when you put tomorrows delivery date in, it takes off the discount which is buy 1 get 2 free - so the discount is 8 x £2.50 = £20.00. Thats why you get a minus -£8.00 on your order.

    But......

Tomorrow when the price of the eggs goes up to £2.50 each, your basket will total ( 12 x £2.50) = £30.00, then it will take the discount - buy 1 get 2 free off which is again 8 x £2.50 = £20.00. So your total will now be £10.00, not -£8.00.

At least thats what i think anyway, so as much i would like this to work, i don't think i will bother.

I agree with the workings I have 9 eggs in basket worst that could happen tomorrow when is delivered is that im charged the extra £1.50 on each set of 3 eggs so £4.50 extra the discount stays the same as its already been worked out at £2.50..... still a great offer so am willing to take the chance, £2.50 for 3 eggs is still a great deal :D

Just to add my order is scheduled for tomorrow morning 8am-10am....ill let u know what iv been charged :D my 1st posting have been a lurker for a while now lol so hi to all xx and many thanks to OP.

Please don't get over EGG-cited people, if something looks too good to be true, it generally is. The price of the eggs are £2.50 not £1, the price just hasn't been updated. Putting 100 eggs in your basket and getting your shopping going through at 10p just wont work.

The guide price showing a minus is just a website glitch, you won't get your shopping at the guide price. You will be charged on the day at the same prices as if you scanned your shopping through a normal till in store.

Don't bother phoning up and demanding a refund because the guide price on the website or your confirmation email shows a lower price than you actually got charged, it's a guide price only, and on this occasion it's wrong.

  • Hi folks,

You'll defintely be charged £2.50 as it's all about the price on day of delivery. I placed an order last Monday when the cadbury caramel cones were £1.05 each, and were showing to be bogof for the day my deivery was booked (Tuesday). On the delivery slip it showed I had been charged £2.49 and bogof, not £2.10 for the two boxes or £1.05. Goes to show what we already know - a lot of the time when Tesco offers bogof it's actually more expensive... Still £2.50 for 3 Easter Eggs is pretty good :o)

I'm not so certain, I think they may stand by their advertised price of £1 each and buy 1 get 2 free, but probably not the glitch.

If that was the case I would be extremely happy 3 eggs for a £1.

You may have to call CS, but I have kept a screen print of the offer and they have stood by these before and refunded the difference.

    Fingers croseed - thanks OP

You might want to check your orders!!

Ive just gone into mine again, and Mr T has cancelled all the easter eggs off the order, putting 'items out of stock'. If you check, the eggs are now just showing a B1G2F but no unit price!!!! xx
