myself an OH are going for a weekend break, staying the the Hilton in Bristol in a few weeks.
I would really like to take her out to a restaurant that has lovely food and has good service. not fussed about the kind of food, we will eat italian, seafood, anything really. price doesn't really matter either, as long as it's not ridiculous!
i've never been to bristol before so have no idea what there is. just after somewhere with good service, food and a nice atmosphere.
thanks!

My favourites are San Carlo in Corn Street, Marco's which is on Baldwin Steet (which is now called something else but I forget what), & Piccolino's in Cabot Circus (all Italian). Brasserie Blanc is supposed to be very good as well, although I haven't been there.
Is the Hilton in Bradley Stoke? You would have to drive to the places I recommend as they are a fair way from the hotel.0 -
San Carlos is good, Loch Fyne is a good fish restaurant and there is a new Jamies Italian opened on Park Street.0

The Riverstation is consistently good, www.riverstation.co.uk.
I like Dynasty for Chinese food, but it's tucked out the way a bit (still walking distance from the centre though).
Chew Magna is a lovely village and has the michelin starred Pony and Trap, www.theponyandtrap.co.uk/.0 -
san carlos in corn street is superb! great food, service, etc - and I've never had a bad meal at Picalinnos (Cabot Circus)0

pinksleepybear - sorry to disappoint you about the Riverstation. My OH went there a couple of weeks back with clients, they all had steaks - very chewy & grissly (sp?). Since Christmas, it has also been totally covered with scaffolding.
If the OP is staying in the Hilton in Bradley Stoke, then there is the Saffron Indian Restaurant not very far away.0 -
this is fab place for the atmosphere especially on a weekend with the belly dancers ect nice and romantic but also a bit different never had a bad meal there either
plus its central so you can go for a walk afterwards and there is a carpark right opposite if you go there definatly book as it popular

You are not far from The Bowl in Almondsbury which is great , I would save yourself the hassle of going into town and go there instead
