Bank of Scotland' Easycash Account

Hi
I have a few queries, which my local branch of Halifax seem unable to answer:
I live in England (and English, though seem to get more sense out of the Scots by-and-large) but have a BoS account I opened over the phone as I used to go to Scotland, and there were few "English" banks there, so used the BoS account when roaming the streets of Strathclyde.
I now still use it in England, using Halifax branches.
The staff down here aren't impressed I can't use the Immediate Deposit Machine, so I have to queue to deposit money.
They also tell me - yes, Bexleyheath Halifax - that references cannot be added to deposits! However, when I rang the George Street branch up in Lothian, he said that they can
Marina in Dartford Halifax told me that it "was not possible" to transfer £22 to friend at Lloyds, and it would be as a BACS and not FP; my main account is with Barclays, and I am always FPing to friend with Abbey National
I was also under the impression, when ringing 0131 centre for Telebanking, that I could set-up Easycash 2 over-the-phone. This was Sunday night. Monday am, no, has to be online.
Managed to set-up IASA with BoS, and lad at George Street said it is getting abolished - but what's replacing it?
Do you know if my lovely "Scottish" card will be a dreaded Lloyds Banking Group card? And that as i am in debt with them £850, can TSB search through my BoS account?
And why oh why are their mini statements just a bunch of letters and numbers and not lists of merchants?
Many thanks

Sadly out-of-work due to a kerfuffle with my health, and now a self-employed Telegraph-reading, Radio 3-listening tea-drinker with the knowledge of every postcode from Dartford to Dumbarton (Asperger's), and walk like Pingu.
Debt letters decorate my shredder very nicely, thank-you! Credit Rating: 278; Defaults: 7, since 2008

Does any bank produce a mini-statement that lists merchants? I doubt whether there's enough space for the names0

When they print the list out from their computer, it just shows a load of letters, rather than a list showing merchants, which Barclays doSadly out-of-work due to a kerfuffle with my health, and now a self-employed Telegraph-reading, Radio 3-listening tea-drinker with the knowledge of every postcode from Dartford to Dumbarton (Asperger's), and walk like Pingu.

Does it not tell you what the codes mean on the back of the slips?
It's only a mini statement, for a full statement why not log online and check it that way, if you are at the branch during opening times most branches have a computer you can use.0 -

Nope Bank of Scotland is the principle banking brand for LBG in Scotland, Lloyds TSB is it in England and Halifax is a competitor brand. So your Bank of Scotland card will remain.
No LTSB cannot see details, as far as i know, separate systems still being used they will not be merged until summer.0 -

Right of offset will apply if you are delinquent with the LTSB debt. If this is a problem debt, it would be advisable to move your primary banking elsewhere before they get their systems together and tie up your accounts.0 -
I dont think the right of off set will apply, as new terms and conditions are coming into effect later this month and it only allows off-set against other Bank of Scotland plc accounts, not group accounts. But now the Data Protection Statement has been changed and they will be sharing data within the entire group so are likely to be come aware of who hold what, are where, and if they want to lend more in one group based on debts in another.0

I think yorkshire bank list the merchants on there mini statements.
Out of the ATM, that's fair enough, but when I ask for a print-out in my local Halifax, it is an A4 sheet with dates on the left, and stuff such as 4545454fgkfktlgkfli6556 £5.00 etcDegenerate wrote: »Right of offset will apply if you are delinquent with the LTSB debt. Well, they're not hassling, but...
Lloyds TSB

When the kerfuffle started (and as of 03/09), I was living in Medway, and now in Dartford (and was of 14/3/10), but the address registered as showing the grid on Equifax, was my address in Greenwich, which I left back-end of 2007. And in '04 I was in Bexley. And as of 2010/2011, I have not been written to at Dartford.I dont think the right of off set will apply, as new terms and conditions are coming into effect later this month and it only allows off-set against other Bank of Scotland plc accounts, not group accounts.
