Insulation grants - worth phoning all companies offering them?
or will they all just use the same sub contractor?
I've got B Gas coming out, on a waiting list for Scottish Power and was about to phone the rest of the list on the https://www.est.co.uk site.
But we are in a relatively small Scottish town - maybe they will all just subcontract all their business to a local company?
or do they all offer different levels of grant?

Go on your local council web site and you should find something related to government grants.I have just had my cavity walls done totaly free of charge because I was receiving child tax credit.I must state though that I only got it because a company called HIS (home insulation services) knocked on my door and asked if I was actualy on any benefits.Have a look at the stay warm web site ,you can put in your post code and see if any companies are doing the insulation grants.0

We got two quotes - one as a result of a leaflet through the post, the other from Scottish Power. SP came in £100 cheaper.
When I spoke to the sub-contractor for SP (different to the sub for the other supplier), it *sounded* like he was looking at a price list with different levels of discount depending on who had done the referring - but obviously I can't confirm that!0
