"Satellite Services" nuisance calls, claim to be working with/for SKY

These numpties keep calling me, very persistant.

They call, massive delay on the line until the call connects. Really annoying. Then they say Miss *&^%, hello I'm calling from Satallite services, can you confirm you are a sky customers.

Its a phising scam, sky call center lady confirmed it to me this evening as I phoned to inform sky of the problem. The "company" has been reported to ofcom and police by sky.

Please, no one give them any info, except tell them to sod off!

We get calls from them every few months. We are Sky customers but I just tell them that we are not.....they obviously dont know what to say then and the phone goes dead.

Any call I get where there is a delay before I can hear anything (silent pause), the phone gets put straight down.

It's a sure sign of a call centre.

Sounds like another company doing the Sky warranty scam. Loads of companies have the Sky customer database which they then use to try to sell you an extended warranty, trying to pass themselves off as Sky. Very easy to be misled into thinking you are actually dealing with Sky. Sky have actually taken some of these companies to court.

had a bit of "sport" with one of these, kept asking him to quote my sky customer number to prove he was from sky, he kept saying he had my "reference number" but would not give it to me

I then informed him I was going to start recording the converstion and asked him to repeat the bit about being from Sky , for some reason he hung up

We've had people ring to ask if we have sky too, I got my dad to answer it because I'm sometimes a bit rubbish with people cold calling

We also had someone call and ask if we were with Karoo and I just said 'why do you need to know?' and the guy hung up! :rotfl:
