Hi!
Can anyone recommend free watermark software pls- there's loads out there but I don't know which one to choose!
I haven't got photoshop and the photo editing software that came with the camera doesn't appear to have it.
Thanks!

I've found umark lite easiest to use although I don't watermark anything any more (can't be bothered). http://www.uconomix.com/umark/"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I'm currently using the one that comes built into Fastone Capture.
It's a screencapture utility but you can open image files with it and do pretty decent watermarks.
e.g You can place another image onto the image, drag it to the right size and then use a slider to decide on transparency0 -

Sounds even easier than umark. I only ever used watermarking for my ebay images. But now I just host them on photobucket. If anyone copies the link, I'll just change the picture into a hairy bum or something. (unless of course that's what I was selling in which case it would have to be something else  )"She is quite the oddball. Personally just use https://www.gimp.org for all my photo editing (described by some as a free version of photoshop - personally wouldnt rate it that highly but it is very good)
As superscaper says, just put a new layer/ image over the existing one and change the transparency. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

There is a watermark option in Microsoft Word if you have it.I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0

I think the MS word option is for printed docs - I'm wanting to watermark digital photos before uploading them to the web0

Astaroth - I have just looked at GIMP website and it is all double dutch to me. What exactly do I or dont I download. There is so much techi jargon I got lost, but if it is a "free version of photoshop" albeit not as good, I would be interested. Can you help translate???
Thanks!0 -
You can tell the site is mainly focused on technical Linux users
The URL for the windows downloads is:
http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html
You need to have installed the "GTK" environment (link on the same page) prior to being able to install GIMP itself.
I would say it is almost as good, the main difference is that with Photoshop you tend to have a single button to do something with an intuitive name with GIMP you have all the separate processes that the button does instead but there are many free plugins you can download to "automate" these thingsAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
