This has already been said in post 9 so the OP is aware they cannot claim HB whilst living with mum.
The discussion is about a reasonable amount to pay mum, not how much can be claimed on HB.When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

Dont snap, im trying to be helpful and sort my own stuff out.
Problem is what is reasonable and what doesnt look contrieved to prevent get a IP order, so its difficult to advise and obviously poster is going to have to demonstrate/prove what she is paying mum and that mum does receive it.0 -
1/3 of your wages! That's what I was charged when I lived at home!
If i got lazy and too comfy living at home my mum would put the board up..... encourages ya to get off ya !!!! and better yaself ;-) independence etc....0 -
Thanks everyone,
Holidaymad has hit the nail on the head. I need to give a reasonable amount which doesn't appear contrived. I was going to pay my mum by standing order do the OR could see the money coming out of my account into my mums. I'm going to get an IPA purely due to the amount of benefits that I receive as WTC / CTC have based my income on last year when I was on maternity leave for 6 months rather than my current salary, I have informed them of this increase but they're not interested until the end of the year, but hopefully when my WTC reduces in May my IPA will too.
Thanks everyone for the responses, they're all really appreciated. I'm so worried about this, even more so than about actually going bankrupt0 -
Hi,
I'm not sure if it will help or not in your case but they can't take benefit money.
So if your income is part benefits part wages they can't take more than the total amount of wages even if your surplus is higher.Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten0
