Tap problem

Hi
Mybathroom sink hot tap has just stopped giving water. |i can still turn it but to no avail. Is it something that I - a person with NO plumbing skills - could do?

Could be a stuck tap washer. Is it feed from a hot tank or combi boiler, I take it the other hot taps are ok?

Yes the other hot taps are fine. I dont have a combi boiler just an immersion tank so probably comes off that . If it is a stuck washer (they are about 25 years old) can I do that? Not got things like pipe wrenches but have got what I believe is a pair of mole grips???

It may, or may not be a stuck washer ... you could open the tap and try banging it with your mole grips (not too hard) or even blowing back into the tap (a piece of tube might help here unless you can get your head in the sink ) . . . only other thing I can think would be a blocked pipe.

Just thought .. is there an isolator valve in the pipe/ under the sink? If so have a look at that.
