Wrong street?!?

Not sure where to put this but we're in the process of buying a house so thought here would be a good start.

The road where the house is, is called Hawksbury Drive (street sign) however it has two postcodes, one for the right hand side of the street and another for the left. Now when i type in the postcode for the house (the correct one) it gives me and adress of Hawkesbury Drive whilst the other postcode is Hawksbury Drive. The road isnt overly big would say no more than 60 houses on it so not sure why it has two postcodes in the first place?!

What i want to know is... will this cause problems in terms of buying the property. ie delays with solicitors, searches etc etc

Appologies if i haven't made much sense will try and elaborate further if needed.

Thanks

It's quite a common thing. Particularly on longer roads, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Did you use Royal Mail's postcode finder, or something else?

If not, what does this say about the spelling?

    Penwortham?

I see what you mean. 9EJ or 9EH?

Odd but not likely to be an issue.

I doubt it would ever be a problem and shouldn't cause any delays for the solicitors, searches, etc. (the street where I live has at least three postcodes and it crosses a council boundary - still never had any problems). As for the name of the street, if there's any doubt check with Royal Mail and go with whatever they say.

contact the delivery office that covers the street
could be a simple typo in the Aplus system
    easily changed

Also, check with the local authority Street Naming and Numbering Officer, they may be the ones to change the spelling, which will then be distributed to other users of the address databases.

its normal for opposite sides of the street to have different postcodes. odds would have one evens another.
