Royal Mail - Lost Parcels

Posts: 1,744 Forumite

Im now on my 9th lost parcel delivered by Royal Mail since December and Im totally at a loss of what to do!
It started during the winter, after the snow and to be honest I accepted that was genuine but its just been getting worse and worse...
I made a complaint to Royal Mail after my 6th had gone missing but they ruled there was no logical reason for this and just told me that Id just been unlucky as they have large amounts of mail everyday and its inevitable that some go missing etc etc.... Until December I have NEVER had a bit of post go missing!
I really can't help but feel something isn't right with this but Royal Mail don't want to take me seriously

Just to clarify these are items being sent TO me, so I have no control over the packaging, labels etc.
And no its definitely not 000's of items been ordered either, probably the total over this time period is about 30, so almost 1/3 of my items have gone missing but Royal Mail seem to think this is no big dealMFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11

i would complain again, perhaps go to your local delivery office
are you in a main door or a flat? if a flat are you ensuring the packages are fully addressed
9 in 30 is a massive amount and im surprised they arent more interested0 -

Yeah precisely I think its ridiculous too, had 3 go missing this month alone - unless first class takes over 3 weeks these days!
Its a main door - but everything is addressed as it should be.
There is only two other possibilities that I can see;
There is another street with the same name in my city, that my parcels have been wrongly sent there and the person has kept them, but for that to have happened for so much there must be a major flaw in the sorting of the parcels.
Secondly the only other thing I can think of is the postman hasn't bothered with posting a delivery card through the door but they have been fairly good with them in the past and regardless Im home everyday except mondays so I would have heard the bell anyway.
But this was really only what RM said
"My investigations into your enquiry have included checking all available service information and I cannot identify any reason why this problem has occurred. Additionally, due to the millions of pieces of mail that pass through our massive postal pipeline each day, we cannot trace items unless a specific trackable service is used"MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11

Strange , I have one package about 5Kg which has gone AWOL. The worrying thing is that our local Post Delivery Office was busted by the Police on Saturday. Waiting to see if the local paper reports anything. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Postmen steal them sometimes, as well as sorting office staff.Owed out = lots. :cool:0
