Lots of junk, the only thing flagges as nasty is the Vuze toolbar, though I suspect it's not malicious, just the kind of junk no sensible user would install.

Exactly why are you asking? Are you experiencing some problems that you think are malware related?

There's plenty of other stuff I'd remove if it were my PC (or, in this case, laptop), but just getting Vuze off the system would make me more comfortable, as I suspect anyone that uses an app like that really doesn't know what they're doing, and is better off going to shops for their media (no offence intended)

Correct, you kindly advised me to
'security software overload, uninstall adaware and rapport,
which I did. I did not ignore the advice given, I just thought that there was a load of 'junk' that could be deleted/uninstalled.

Are there no other issues that need attention to speed up this laptop.

you need to post a fresh hijackthis log so people know what you have done already, and preferably stick to one thread to avoid duplicate replies.

is it still slow, if so, try avast instead of kaspersky, there is no point deleting random things (toshiba software etc) which will have no effect on speed, you may need them later.

You could backup data and restore to factory settings if you want it back to the way it was when purchased.

is it still slow, if so, try avast instead of kaspersky, there is no point deleting random things (toshiba software etc) which will have no effect on speed, you may need them later. Uninstall Kaspersky first? ( I stupidly thought Kaspersky had a Firewall!)

You could backup data and restore to factory settings if you want it back to the way it was when purchased.That seems a really good idea to me!
