Warning: P&O tickets paid for Jan. Not here and needed this Sunday

P&O offer a lunch for £25 with a tour of the cruise ship. I paid for this in January. Each time I phone to find out where the tickets are I am fobbed off with ‘they are just being put in the post’. This Sunday is when we go. We will be away soon to spend time in Southampton so will not be here to pick up our post. When I tell them this they say don’t worry. You guessed why – they are being posted today.
An utter shambles and so - beware booking this offer.

I fear they are holding out and will cancel last minute because numbers are not sufficiently high.
Or is P&O banking on people failing to turn up because there are no instructions received. Nice earner as these are non-refundable.
If this is a way of getting custom on their cruises then this has misfired as if they cannot organise a lunch efficiently, what chance a full cruise.
I am sick of being told the tickets are on their way. Do they think we are stupid?

Stupid enough to have booked so may be they are right.
P&O has made idiots out of all of us who booked in good faith.
[The money was taken from our accounts the very next day. They are sharp]

Turn up anyway? They should have names at the door... And if it's not on, then sue them for your travel costs there and back.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • when you booked did you not receive confirmation email ? if you did and still have details print it off and turn up with it. or if not turn up with your details anyway they should have a record of payment.
i have turned up to sail with p&o only really need booking ref .

No. P&O is too sharp for that. On the 9 Feb we received a letter saying....and you are probably ahead of me now, "tickets are being sent." No details on the letter. So no, nothing in writing.

Dear P&O, are you a, deliberately sly, or b, incompetent.

Sigh. We are increasingly concerned. Our stay in Southampton was built around this.

P&O, if you are reading this - you have ruined a trip that was much looked forward to, and turned it instead into a long and stressful wait. You do not deserve any business, as you cannot run one.

whay have p&o ruined a trip, if you turn up you will most likely be allowed on, all they would hav to do is check the computer system for a mr and mrs libertysurf,

no i cant see them cancelling last minute due to low numbers, theres always people wanting to travel eg people who work in northern france, people taking a break/seeing family etc
  • I booked for the p&o lunch day last year. Confirmation didn't show up till last minute, though i'd called them before hand and they gave me the ref number.
I can't say for sure but I don't remember them asking for the confirmation letter anyway. I handed them my id when I arrived. The lunch is gorgeous btw

Ruin might be a bit strong but having booked something in good faith to be fobbed off, not sent what you should be and wondering whether your day will go anything like as planned is not all that welcome.

And potentially being £50 out of pocket.
    Glad to have your understanding.
