Hope you can advise on the following...
Trying to clear up my dad's computer. Have ran a quick scan on Malwarebytes and removed all that was shown, ran a full scan but not everything got ticked to be removed so another full scan is currently in progress. Also ran HJT earlier, log in next post.
There are 2 problems I can see,
1. entries relating to crawler.com - can I just fix them in HJT or do I need to do anything else
2. Rebate informer - I removed this in add remove programs (and it is no longer in the program list) but continues to run on startup. How do I get rid please.
Thanks

Now try running a short scan, they sometimes find different things.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
-
this needs fixing
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1
as well as all the crawler entries and no file/file missing entries and
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [RebateInformer] C:\PROGRA~1\REBATE~1\REBATE~1.EXE /STARTUP
and yes you can use hijackthis to do it if there is no uninstaller in control panel
and avast is out of date!!
