The Cheapest Sugared Almonds Challenge

I've been umming & ahing about favours, and the old sugared almond, though done, is simple, traditional & cheap.

So I'm trying to source the cheapest almonds pos.
I seen that approximately1kg gives you 180 almonds, and I need enough for approx 150 favours, so for 5 each, I need around 4.5kg.

The best value I've seen so far is £17.99 for 3kg (including P&P), but I'd need 2 of those, leaving me with about 1.5kg excess nuts!

So, can anyone find any for less than £6 akg, or is this really the best deal out there?

Hi RainbowDrops, slightly off topic...
You may want to be careful about the cheapest sugared almonds if taste (and not damaging your teeth) is important to you.
I suspect that the almonds you're looking at (180 pieces per kg), would be mostly sugar and little almond... I bought 1kg of sugared almonds for £8.99 in a shop close to me and there are approx. 240 almonds in the box with a fine sugar coating.
Sorry can't help with finding lower prices than what you already have got...

Thanks Bubbles, that's comparable to the others I've seen but with the benefit of not having millions of spare almonds knocking about!

ok just make sure your first quote is only for 180/kg cos if theyr the same weight as my quote-250/kg your quote's cheaper!

this place will give you the 6kg for 32.00 they give free postage if you send over 30

i know it gives more than you want , but when i was looking the amount per the 3kg ranged from 500-600

I bought ours from itsasweetworld on ebay.
Bags of mixed coloured almonds, I think there were 4 colours (white, pink, purple and something else), overall nearly everyone got 2 pink ones as they were more common and one each of the others.
Also a bag of random pick'n'mix for the kids' bags. Though there were so many left over I ate them all after!
Didn't consider quality, as I was only planning to eat 5 of them! The ones I got were absolutely fine in my opinion. 3kg for ~£20 delivered. But they do smaller bags so can combine a 3, a 1 and a 0.5. We were after a nice round amount so wasn't an issue. Perhaps ask for a bespoke quote for 4.5kgs?
