I have just upgraded my package from option 1 to option 3 but I am quite happy with using AVG free and Zone alarm. With option 3 you get free norton firewall and antivirus.I have had bad experiences of norton and dont want to use it.My question is does anyone know if when you install option 3 bt total broadband you can choose not to install norton or does it all come linked .If so how easy is it to just uninstall norton

Why do you have to "install option 3 bt total broadband"? Surely the upgrade will be done at their end. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

smudger1964 wrote:No there is a new BT HOME HUB being delivered so there will be a disc to insert I presume and option 3 comes with norton but the option 1 I am on doesnt.
If you connect to the hub using Ethernet (preferred method) I don't see why you need to insert any CD into your computer.
Simply open your web browser and type bthomehub.home into the address bar and press enter or do ipconfig to find the actual IP address of your hub. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
ok thanks when it comes next monday ill try that0

You have to download Norton from the BT software centre after installing the hub. I haven't yet - I can't because IE won't allow me to access the BT login page (it freezes the system - only webpage in existence that does!). So I use Firefox - which the BT software centre doesn't support!
So - Norton is NOT pre-installed with Option 3.0 -
I didnt use the disc.
I heard it installs all manner of garbage and messes with IE.
I installed it manually. Very easy.0 -

It comes with instructions to install it manually.
When you unplug the voyager you will still need to configure the hub.
It is easy peasy and the instructions are idiot proof.0
