Beko Cooker Rust

I bought a free standing Beko cooker from Argos. After 15 months, rust began to appear on the right side panel near the joint virtually from top to bottom. To me it is a clear manufacturing fault due to poor preparation prior to enamelling. I emailed Beko a number of times with photos and eventually wrote to the MD but essentially Beko claim this was caused by "incorrect cleaning". I denied this but after a numer of exchanges Beko just dismissed the complaint without any further interest of investigation.

Where now? Do I persist? Or do I just put it down to experience and avoid Beko in future?

    Yes, but not with Beko.
They don't have any potential liability with regards to the cooker. Your contract was with Argos, and it is them that you should be speaking to.

As it's over 6 months since you purchased it, the onus is now on you to prove that the rusting was due to a manufacturing fault, and about the only way that you could do this would be to get an independent report stating that the metal hadn't been prepped and/or painted properly during the manufacturing process.

Before you go to the bother of trying for a report, you should contact Argos and explain the situation, telling them that expecting a cooker to last more than 15 months before it starts rusting isn't unreasonable.

It might also be worth doing a Google search for the make and model of oven to see if there have been any other reports of this happening. It may be a common fault and if you can show this to be the case, would help with any claim.
