What type of ear phones shall I buy?

Hi folks

I want to watch films on my desktop.

I have got external speakers but I don't hear what they are saying, when watching the films. I know the speakers are working fine, since I can hear sound when watching bbc iplayer etc.

So, do you think I should buy earphones in order to listen to these films? If so, could you recommend any?

If you can hear just fine using iPlayer then it's pointless buying earphones. It sounds like your DVD player program on your PC has the sound muted. Check the options in the DVD player program.

Which DVD player are you using? If it's one of the common ones someone on the board may give accurate instructions.

Check the sound settings in your DVD player. If it's fine when playing regular mono or stereo from iPlayer, then sounds like you're losing the centre channel (dialogue channel) from a 5.1 mix or higher.

Set the DVD player to output regular stereo sound and see how you get on.

Might be poor sound on the films themselves .
