HARVEYS Furniture Store - Never again!

I purchased a dining table set in January from Harveys online. The table was reserved and in stock almost immediately but the chairs weren't reserved until 7th March, this is my own fault as I didn't notice the 11 weeks delivery when ordering but when I asked if they could improve delivery (if I'd of just been ordering the chairs delivery is at 5 weeks so I couldn't see why delivery couldn't be improved with it just being the chairs I was waiting on) they said this wasn't possible and I'd be contacted when the order was ready. They took the money for my order instantly, with that much of a gap from order to delivery this seems wrong somehow.

So I've waited and this weekend I've received a text that my order is ready and has been given a delivery date of 29th March and I need to call to confirm this is ok, so I called and advised that both myself and partner work full time so could we possibly have saturday to which I was advised delivery is only available monday to fridays and if I don't want the specified date it will have to go back into the system for a new date to be selected, so I asked what the latest delivery time was and she advised delivery can come anytime of the day and we'd get a call within the hour that they're due to deliver, this seems ridiculous that I can't even specify a time slot. So far I've found the whole experience as having a very poor customer service!

I have ordered some sofas from Harveys and although they quoted the 11th March as delivery, they called up to advise the container with the sofas had not arrived and delivery would now be 14th March (today).

Although they said the sofas would be delivered between 9-6pm when they called, They did text me on the 12th to let me know a specific time (9am-12pm) so I could make arrangements to get rid of my old sofas. They also called within the hour to let me know they were on their way. I'm not sure if they'll do the same for the chairs?
  • I ordered a Polar dining room suite from HARVEYS PLYMOUTH in January with an expected delivery time of 8 weeks. Finally got a date for 14th April, booked the day off work and they cancelled delivery the previous evening. Went to PLYMOUTH STORE to find the Polar Range labelled "Not for Sale" due to quality control issues. Asked for cancellation of order and refund of £145 deposit and was advised to come back and speak to manager who was on holiday. Went back at weekend and manager said he would speak to his manager and ring me today - he didn't!! So, I have just rung MANAGER OF HARVEYS PLYMOUTH and been refused a refund of deposit despite the fact that they cannot offer me a delivery date yet. Asked to speak to his manager and was told that there is no-one "customer facing" above the store manager. Sadly, reading other reviews I realise that, despite their high profile advertising, this company are notorious for POOR QUALITY, POOR SERVICE and BROKEN PROMISES. DO NOT BUY FROM HARVEYS IF YOU WANT TO TAKE DELIVERY OF A QUALITY PRODUCT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME AND RECEIVE A SATISFACTORY STANDARD OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Are you just going to re-open old posts to put your bit in? You've posted this already today in another old post.....
People are less likely to read what you've got to say if you do multiple posts.

I understand you're angry though, I would be too.
Have you gone in and spoken to them face to face? Send a letter :) I find letters are great to get what you want out of things :)
