Best Current Account For £400 Monthly Deposit

Hi,

I currently have a Lloyds TSB Classic Plus current account. I have had this account since before I met my now wife. The account was my only current account & had my wages paid directly into it.

Things have changed now & we have a Halifax joint account where both of our wages are paid into. From this I get £400 paid into my Lloyds TSB account for my monthly personal spends. Sometimes I go overdrawn with this & have noticed Lloyds are charging me £1 per day.

I want to switch my current account now & have had a good look around the main site & moneysupermarket.com, but all the accounts that I see need a minimum deposit to be paid in, which my £400 doesn't cover.

Could anyone recommend an account which they think would be suitable for me?

Yours hopefully
Andy

The Lloyds Current Plus is a very good account.

Just don't go overdrawn. You won't find a bank happy to give you a full current account, with such a small monthly desposit, and even if they did, they sure wouldn't be forthcoming with an overdraft, let alone a cheap one.

thanks izools, I agree that going overdrawn would be the best option - but I can be a silly boy!

I was hoping to limit my overdraft costs as I have just been charged £5 :(

You could cancel the overdraft? Unfortunately £400.00 a month isn't enough to keep a bank happy enough to set up an OD; although Halifax's £1 a day is cheaper than Lloyds TSB as they charge £1 a day + interest.
