Changing the fuse box/switch to a socket?

Ok, I am not sure hoow to describe, but we have a fuse box/swithc, like this:

It is next to the gas fire place that we have already removed this weekend (ok, Corgi man removed it). There will be no fire going back in there, and this electrical cable will just need to isolated.
What I was wondering is how difficult is it to change this to a single socket? We will be putting TV against that wall, and any extra sockets would be useful. Is it a straight forward job, or is it something more complicated?
I have changed a few sockets, changed single to double, moved light switches, etc, but I haven't attempted anything like this before.

yes you can change it to a normal socket. simple enough job.
switch off at the mains first!Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks. Will have a look. Of course, I'll switch off the mains. Will be changing other sockets and switches in the room anyway, so will need to order another socket, not one of these (and socket is cheaper!!!!).Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

Just be careful to note where the wires are connected.
1 (poss 2) will be connected to the "supply" side of the switch and another to the "load" side (old gas fire).
Obviously you do not need the "load" wire connected in the new socket.0
