*Sorry insurance is actually swift, not swinton*

Ok on friday, my OH was hit up the back side when parking by a 4x4 driver that wasn't paying attention. The rear right corner of my other halfs car was quite badly damaged and the car is now not road worthy.

The 4x4 driver admitted liability and insurance details were exchanged. Swift picked up my other halfs car later that day and we haven't heard anything since (not suprised, it's the weekend) but on the computer system where you can track your claim, it's suddenly saying that my OH admitted liability and he's lost his no claims bonus.

Not only is he definitely NOT admitting liability, he's also got a protected no claims bonus... I know some computer systems are automated, I'm getting rather worried that they're up to something.

My OH is going to ring them ASAP tomorrow, but wondered if there's anything he should be armed with before contacting them.

Thanks

It might be because the claim is still open and the third party might not yet have admitted liability, that the claim is showing as a fault claim on your side. This should change to non-fault and the NCB should be re-instated once your insurer makes a recovery on this claim, until they make this recovery they are out of pocket therefore it is currently a fault claim. It might take sometime to change as well, as the TP might have told a different story to his insurer.

Ok thanks Ranger, from the evidence of damage on both cars, it'll be pretty hard for the other party to say it wasn't their fault. I have passed on the information, and we're both hoping it's just a waiting game.

    Thanks
