Afternoon guys
I've had Sky BB for about 6 weeks and have been using it wirelessly on my desktop and once or twice on my laptop.
Sunday night the connection began cut out and to get it back I just did a repair from the Network connections box. Since night however I can't get them to connect at all. It won't get past renewing the IP address.
I've spent about an hour on the phone to Sky CS who went trhough all the basics before giving up. I've reset the router, uninstalled/reinstalled my wireless card, messed about with my LAN settings...
Is there anything else i could be?
I'm on Windows XP SP2 (Desktop) and Windows 2000 (laptop)
Cheers

Have you tried changing your wireless channel? As more and more people get these wireless routers, the local airwaves become more congested, as they are often set-up on the same default channel. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Does it work with a wired connection? Did you encrypt it with WEP?
These instructions are for WPA, but you'll probably have to use wep instead because of the laptop o/s.

It was WEP yeah.
How do I change the channel? There are about 4 visible networks around me.Bet match total as of 04/10 = God Knows + About £1000 Quidco. Time for Mrs Huddsta to have a crack!!!

Log into the router and go to the wireless page. Choose a channel as far away as you can from others in your locality. Channel numbers are 1 - 13. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

you probably need to reenter the wep key, and make sure it matches with the router. See my earlier link, but use WEP rather than wpa if you want the w2000 laptop to work wirelesslyEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I'm not really bothered about the laptop. It's years old and, as far as i can tell,
steam powered.
Is WPA the same as SSID?Bet match total as of 04/10 = God Knows + About £1000 Quidco. Time for Mrs Huddsta to have a crack!!!
