Can't see there is much in the way of moral hazard in trying for £124, the Tesco till staff may be on the ball and say sorry no, £100 cap, if not, can't see it is 'theft' or 'fraud' in any way to exceed the cap - it's up to Tesco 1. not to issue vouchers over £100 in the first place & 2. police it0 -

Well yes, there is that risk, but if that happens then you can return the relevant items to Tesco (they usually won't take fresh/frozen goods but everything else is ok IIRC).
i work on a customer service desk at tesco (dont hate me lol) u can take fresh and frozen back to store for refund, it just gets wasted and put in the bin0 -
