Yes I have "dear" and if you are in fact a staff member then perhaps tesco should legally enquire as to your ip address from MSE so they can sack your a$$ for abusing the deal :p Of course you could just take your trolling back to your bridge ;)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:you made me cry :rotfl:

So, just checking - who's still on for this DTD challenge???? :D

meeeeeee!! its better now with the £20 cap, people are less likely to go overboard, meening there will actually be some DTD items left on the shelves so everyone gets a go at the nivea, roasting pans etc
  • I was panicking earlier today as I had 2 vouchers printed, each over £85 - decided to go tonight and spend, not risk waiting - both were taken without anyone batting an eyelid, no problems whatsoever. I'm sorry if people have genuinely had problems with their voucher being queried, but honestly I do wonder if some are having a bit of a laugh winding people up - some of the things that SAs are supposed to have said are hard to credit...

has anyone had dtd on the rump steak

Yes, I had some for my dinner and it was delicious!
  • Used voucher today and the supervisor had to explain to the cs how to process it, i got talking to her and she told me that they had to check them properly now as they had some instances of vouchers being reprinted. Apparently they had been asked to try and catch people doing it rather than rely on tracking the vouchers, but no problems in actually using the dtd voucher and she did ask if i needed the receipt back.

I'm guessing this TOTALLY FLAWED "New Marketing Strategy" of a DTD "refund" probably came about because of TWO reasons.

FIRSTLY, in trying to fight ASDA's INDEPENDENTLY AWARDED title of "The Cheapest Supermarket Of The Year" for the past umpteen years running (somthing like 9 or is it even 13?) ....
... and the VERY SUCCESSFUL recent campaigns (ALSO INDEPENDENTLY JUDGED) of ASDA having "this week" 9223 products cheaper than Tesco (Tesco ONLY having 1495 cheaper than Asda), with similar comparisons for Morrisons & Sainsburys, ...

... TESCO INVENTED (a while ago) the "totally spurious" concept of the "cheaper average shopping basket"

I admit I'm guessing here, but I bet some marketing guy at Tesco, charged with countering the adverts and coming up with a similar "But actually we REALLY are cheaper than ASDA" campaign, tried to "discredit" ASDA's claims and came up with "Don't believe Asda if you are a Mr/Mrs Average shopper"

Conceptually it's that ASDA "MIGHT" have 2 or 3 or 5 times the NUMBER of cheaper products than the NUMBER that Tesco has cheaper than ASDA .... BUT .... "MOST" of those "cheaper" products at ASDA are ones you either NEVER BUY or ONLY VERY RARELY ....
.... whereas Tesco's "smaller limited range" of cheaper products are the ones you buy every week and you'll find in everybody's basket/trolley time and time again.

So DESPITE ASDA having "9223 products cheaper than Tesco"
    and
Tesco ONLY having 1495 cheaper than ASDA .....

... Tesco advertised .... This week "2 million shopping baskets 'COST LESS' at Tesco than ASDA", ONLY 50,000 'Shopping Baskets' cost less at ASDA than Tesco."

ASDA then says, "Whilst we believe we are the cheapest - IF WE GET IT WRONG - we will beat our competitors price, as determined by mysupermarket.com, by 10%

Furthermore because "we believe we are cheaper not by just a few pence but by a considerable margin, even IF WE ARE RIGHT AND ARE CHEAPER, we will still refund money UNTIL WE ARE 10% CHEAPER!

At this point TESCO executives obviously nearly choked to death on their breakfast cornflakes ...

... and shortly afterwards, WITHOUT GENUINE, TRUE ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH the misconceived "DTD if we are not the cheapest" was born in "retaliation" :rotfl:

Oh, I said was there TWO reasons :)

THEY HAD WATCHED AND BELIEVED THEIR OWN ADVERTS :rotfl:

"This week "2 million shopping baskets 'COST LESS' at Tesco than ASDA", ONLY 50,000 'Shopping Baskets' cost less at ASDA than Tesco."

They really believed their own MARKETING HYPE.

IF it was TRUE, how could DTD cost them anything but a "minimal amount" ....
.... which would be totally offset by all the floods of new customers and extra sales by everyone deserting ASDA :) (and presumably elsewhere)

Afterall, TESCO on this basis MUST be cheaper. Just have to be. No questions asked !!

They are probably very surprised that ASDA's up and down the land are not devoid of customers and that there isn't tumbleweed blowing about instead :D

    IDIOTS :rotfl:

ME!!!!!:T lots of small shops in one visit - onto the conveyor belt and split with a bar. If they want us to do small shops that is fine - more work for them in the long run having to put through different transactions! it will be nice having lots of small vouchers to spend - not so difficult to decide what to spend the bigger ones on!
