Has anybody found any new bargains?
I will have a look at the afternoon, but wonder if Mr T have reduced the prices to stop any more 'free' shopping.
Still, at least we will get a better priced items in Mr T's instead the rip -off they made us pay.

This is an absolute lottery - just checked the Montana wine and its says on pricechecker its 8.99 at T and 5.00 at Asda but on Tesco website it's now 6.99. Also I was told by Asda that the online prices are not necessarily the prices in store so that could be complete pot luck. Not sure I'm brave enough to try this - it's a bit like standing on shifting sand.

Agree. I went this morning with a list from here and nipped into Adsa first to be extra sure :o Had 10 items on my list and 8 instore prices were different (5 Asda. 3 Tesco) to price checker and the lists oh here :(

Right fellow money savers...there are new people coming across this thread everyday and so long as tesco don't pull the plug, I can see this being at the top of the garbbit forum for a while.

I've noticed that people commonly ask questions about the process, how to check prices etc. So, I thought it would be good to have a step-by-step guide about the DTD process for people who stumble across this thread. I will post this same message every few pages as I realise people can't/won't read every single post. Btw, I'm not having a go or a rant at anyone, I just want people to know the best way to carry out this deal with minimal :( and maximum :D! lol

Before I start: DTD = double the difference SEL = shelf-edge label

    GUIDE

Always check the following if you want to bag a DTD deal:

    1. Check the Tesco price check website for your item here. Try not to be specific i.e. enter terms like 'salmon' rather than 'john west salmon'.

    2. If you spot an item that's considerably cheaper at ASDA on the Tesco price check website, then things are looking good.

    3. Now, check to see if your item is on the Tesco grocery website (here) and Asda grocery website (here). Make sure you check that the products are identical AND check that the prices match the ones you found on the Tesco price check website (step 1).

    4. Repeat the steps above for any other items you'd like. Once you've got a list of your items.....

    5. ...go to tesco and find your items. Check the SEL of all items to see if price, product, quantity, weight all match up with what you're about to buy. Check to see if it all matches on your list. If an item is on offer (e.g. BOGOF, buy 2 for £3 etc.), then make sure you put one item into your trolley!

    6. At the checkout, check the price of all your items that scan through; as they may not match the SEL. If you got some items that you know are cheaper at Tesco, then put these through as a seperate transaction. DTD is applied to your basket total.

    7. Enter receipt details online (here) and wait! Results should appear within 24 hours.

    8. Follow the steps above for DTD heaven!

I'm sure I've forgotten some points so please point them out. I will add them to my next post when a few more pages have been added to this thread!

    HTH

I've added this to my opening post guide, well done. :T

i done my online shop last night and most of the items on here i checked myself seems as though mr t is being very quick to change prices ie someone posted birdseye peri peri chicken (my kids love) being at nearly 2 quid T and £1 A however when i checked online tesco had them on promo at 2 for £2 found this with a lot of items, could it be that once someone has claimed on something tesco is changing the prices ?? wont be long before mr T has everything cheaper lol

If the item is on a multibuy offer, just buy one of them to get the DTD.

Can people stop posting up messages about what time they submitted their receipt etc it helps no one really and just clutters up the thread.

It clearly states it can take upto 36 hours, if anyone has had to wait over 36 hours then its worth mentioning.

sorry, but I am finding it useful :D I submitted mine yesterday and am interested to know if people who did there's in the morning have had there voucher yet and then I will know that mine should be on the way

Lots of prices seem to be lower in Tesco instore this morning than on here and on the (updated) price checker. Think i'll give this a miss for a few days as its too risky. Can't afford to lose any money and Tesco obviously won't take back fresh/frozen foods Thanks tho :)
Found the same. Lots of items I noted down yesterday to buy in T today have now come done to Mr. A's price, so no DTD to be had.
Follow earlier advice given and check the Tesco website before you go

I have taken the liberty of starting a discussion thread where people can talk about the ins and outs and tell everyone what time they submitted a receipt etc so that this thread is left for people to post bargains they've spotted as its becoming a nightmare...
