I always find the young male SAs the most helpful, polite, charming and (this is meant in as nice a way as possible) dopey; they don't know what's going on half the time, bless them!
:D:D:D:D
I totally agree - I think they also are more likely to use a bit of bravado and try to style it out if they haven't a clue what is going on whereas I find the older women staff (as it seems to be pretty much either young men or old women only in my local) tend to call over the manager and query things more to ensure they get it right"You've got to cut your cloth to suit your wassname" Terry (my Dad), 1944-present0 -

Ooooh OH has gone to try his luck with his first go at the initial shop. Keeps ringing me to 'price check' stuff.;)
Hope he follows my advice to split it up into manageable DTD vouchers, knowing him, he'll spend hundrends (on his CC) and be really proud of himself and then not be able to spend the voucher!
I sent him the long list someone posted on here earlier (can't remember who sorry) and I think he's just gone all the way down it
He keeps going on about kitkats but I can't find any mention of them. Ah well.:D
I never send my OH shopping anymore, he's clueless- misses all the bargains and buys the most expensive stuff!!!!
.....perfect for this promo-darling get your jacket!!:D

A bit of advice!!
Having got a bit carried away with my shopping, I ended up getting a voucher for £123-50, so was worried about being over the £100 limit.
I was quite prepared to accept just £100 if it was queried.
So I did my shopping and went to the checkout. The SA at the till was a bit confused by my voucher so she called over the supervisor. The supervisor looked at my voucher then looked at me and said "this isn't right, you can't possibly have a refund for this much" By this time other customers waiting nearby were listening in to this conversation and I was getting rather embarrassed:o
Fortunately I had printed off the price check list that comes before you print off the voucher, so I was able to show the surly supervisor that it was possible. Even so I was still made to go with her to customer services for the voucher to be checked again there and verified. So the problem wasn't that it was over £100, it was because they didn't think it was possible to get a refund for that amount!!
So the advice is, print off a copy of the price comparison that comes with your voucher

Hi All, :T
This is my first ever MSE post so please be gentle with me. (I hope I get it right!)
I want to thank all of you who have posted on this thread, will take me forever to go through and click 'thanks' on all the posts now I am registered, however much I would like too! I now have a £40 voucher for a £50 shop, all the items I purchaced on saturday have already clearly been posted on the other thread, I stuck to 'safe' looking items. By the sounds of it Asda prices may change tonight, and Tesco's, well, they seem to sneak price changes in as and when they feel like it!!!!
Anyway, on to the real point of my post that no-one else appears to have mentioned.... when you go to use your voucher, print out a copy of the T&C's, and if you get any bother, point out to them no. 29.....
Tesco employees are entitled to use this service. All price comparisons will be made after your Privilegecard discount has been applied (if used).
I like the fact they put 'if used' next to privalage card!!!! LOL
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Maybe if we tell them that it's for them too, we won't get so much flack!
THANKS AGAIN!
I hope not
Ive got a delivery due in the morning at 9-10, I thought Asda change prices on sundays ?
Does anyone know when they do
Thank you.0 -
OMG. My hubby threw out my tesco encrypt this morning. He was having a 'spring clean'. I stuck it up on the fridge while waiting for my voucher. Now I've got a voucher but no receipt!!! Suggestions anyone? I bought two of the expensive serums. £12 is a bit steep for me to spend on face cream. Will they accept a credit card receipt?
Worth a try without the receipt? It seems to be 50/50 for me whether I get asked for the receipt or not. If you get asked - oops I forgot is easy enough and leave your shopping.0 -
Karlie
I would also like to say a huge thanks to you - I found the info you have put on the first post to be really clear and helpful:T I keep going back to it and using the click 'here' links - fantastic!!!!
thank you!!
i think quite a few thousand people have fond it helpful tbh! that was the whole purpose of it.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

Sounds grand advice for us all, just incase we get the snotty supervisor or manager, instant way of them to check and also helps prove that the voucher is legit !! :T0 -
Hey, GolfBravo. Fancy a Tango??
Less than half the price at Tescos!!

lol, there i was, worrying about spending my big dtd voucher, after all the horror stories, when i thought, why am i worrying about my KILO of melon for, MIKES had loads of WHISKEY of them, and ROMEO and JULIET has had loads of roasting tins. CHARLIE got told by a LIMA that his DTD was void cos he spent over his £100 spend and my PAPA got lifted by UNIFORM for using price checker. Just wish they sold YANKEE candles, then VICTOR would stop complaining that he could get them cheaper at ASDA. LOL0
