Tesco/Asda pricechecker finds here.......

  • i think with ordering online it would depend on when they picked your order for delivery, when it will be charge at current price.
so if ordered today and it was picked/charged today then should get dtd.
but ordered today but not picked until tomorrow then i think its charged at tomorrows price so risk lossing the dtd.
not 100% of this though but i'm sure someone will be able to clarify 100%

The comparison is against the price you pay! This means that if a £10 item is reduced to £6 on your delivery date then you will quite rightly be charged the smaller amount. Could you imagine the uproar if you were charged the higher amount!

So because the comparison is against the price you pay, you'll need to be pretty confident that the price of an item isn't going to change between now and when you receive your goods. It will also be compared against the price Tesco record against Asda for said goods on the same day, which are also subject to change.

Therefore going in store will work best.

Got my money refunded all 94p of it, should have been £80+
I put my receipt in before the prices updated yesterday, the items I had brought were now pennys cheaper at asda (after update) instead of £4-£5 cheaper.
I phoned them up the 1st person hung up on me, tried again & the lady I spoke to didn't know much about the price checker & was useless.
I have now emailed tesco, but looks like I will be taking my items back to tesco tomorrow.

What did you buy? Did you print the prices yesterday on the checker?

Has anyone tried this with own label items?
I've been sticking to "branded" items so far and have had good results (apart from buying the wrong Green&blacks chocolate )

    Anyway, if anyone's interested:
Own Label Finest Montepulciano D'abruzzo 75cl - Tesco £7.99, Asda £5.00 which makes it effectively £2.01 for a bottle. Good deal if you like this wine (and if it works).
I'm assuming as it shows up on Tesco Pricechecker it will work?

I've changed my DTD items order so it's coming on Thursday instead of tomorrow.

Will adjust as necessary tomorrow and then keep my fingers crossed!

  • bet that was a shock, i don't think it matters what time you enter the receipt.
i they use price on day and as they change/check prices in afternoon i suspect they wait til then then price check your receipt

i know another member here has said before to wait until afternoon to pricecheck and shop.think it was czerniacha.
if you don't mind me asking what sort of items failed to work in your favour?

I think you have to be very careful about using Tesco's own Price Checker. For example, the prices currently appearing are yesterdays prices, not todays! You can see this because when you go to the Price Check area of their website, it says "Prices were collected on 14 March 2011."

So anything you buy today will not be compared against the prices that you currently see on the Tesco website, but they will be compared with the prices that appear later on today when they have updated all of their prices. In the meantime, we have to hope that Banrock Station and Baileys don't suddenly appear as 'Not Found'.

You just need to check the asda website as the tesco receipt will show the items exists.

always check the following if you want to bag a DTD deal:

check the tesco price check website for your item. if all looks good, check the tesco grocery website and asda grocery website to see if their prices match the price check website.

then go to tesco, check SEL to see if price, product, quantity, weight all match up. at the checkout, check the price of the items that scan through; as they may not match the SEL.

    submit receipt details.

follow the steps above for DTD heaven

I took with me a printout of all the deals to have- including the Mr T prices- if its any cheaper that I don't buy it.

Also if its a non-persihable product you can always take it back- I used before a photocopy of my receit and they were happy with it.
