Tesco/Asda pricechecker finds here.......

Just wanted to check in and let you all know that I succesfully redeemed my first DTD voucher this evening for a whopping £109.16 with no problems at all
The cashier didn't bat an eyelid, just said he needed to get it authorised by his supervisor (2 lads behind in the queue loudly huffed and puffed and rolled their eyes)... within maybe 30 seconds the supervisor had glanced at it and authorised it, didn't even ask for the receipt!
The cashier declared that after the voucher for £109.16 I had 44p to pay... and the 2 lads behind nearly dropped to the floor in shock :rotfl:
The cashier congratulated us on how much we had got for our 44p (All good offers, Ariel Gel, Coke 8 can packs, Lenor etc) and we walked away to see the 2 lads behind us still rooted to the spot with their mouths open :rotfl:
I feel very lucky... I know that if we had gone to the other Tesco only a mile away we would have been in an arguement with every member of staff in the store and doubt it would have ended well. We specifically chose the store where staff actually seem to have been trained that "the customer is always right" and where they always have a smile and congratulate you for any bargain buys!If a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside!0 -

You could have PM'd them to mention this. Not everyone is aware of etiquette on the internet.
I notice you managed to post this but couldn't be bothered to thank their post though. :cool:0 -
Thats nice to hear Kaos. I am sure they do have nice staff as well as the dragons we always hear about.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Just been to Tesco, I know crazy, I got the Baileys and the Iams I also bought the princes tuna x 2 but on two orders. got the Bold too oh and the Walkers Crisps so I have imput my receipts just waiting to see what happens. Can anyone tell me how the multi deals work if the deal is at A for example Sensodyne toothpase is on 2 for £4 and its 3.00 each at T does that mean you would get £2 back per tube - confused0

The store we now use is relatively new (not been there 2 years yet) and seems to have great management with happy staff... the other store has been there for ever and the management is horrendous (I have had a lot of run-ins in the last 10 years or so). I'm not saying the staff are bad people, just that they are disillusioned with their jobs and this shows through as rudeness and disregard to the customers... very sad

I think this is such a great bargin for alot to be had, but gaining £50.00 + voucher is flying way over the radar, making it alot more likley for this scheme to be abolished, greed can take over but please all think of the long run! I'm definatley not a samaritan and do not have much money but will donate to children in need this weekend for all the money i have saved on my shoping bill!0

I've answered lots of questions on this thread... and now I have one!
Is there any reason NOT to use mysupermarket to compare Tesco/Asda prices? I've been using it to compare items I'm interested in (I figure it has to be completely up to date right?) and then double checking the "comparability" on the pricechecker (which I don't use to compare prices as it is usually out of date, but gives a good indication of what Tesco class as comparable)
I just noticed someone said not to use mysupermarket but I think used in conjunction with the pricechecker it should work fine?If a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside!0 -
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie who has made a few mistakes along the way with the DTD, and wasted money which I wouldn't have done had I discovered these threads before I attempted DTD. Only got voucher for £3 something, but have bought some more items today. THey have all been posted here, so not sure if anyone wants a list once I get my voucher through.
Just want to say thanks to everyone who has contributed. It has helped me hugely. I have thanked people individually as i've been going along. I only did a £20 shop ensuring that I checked and double checked the prices online, and am hoping for a £19 odd return.
I have been trawling through the messages, there is so much to go through, but i'm proud to say i didn't ask any questions- just kept reading!
Carlie88, your help page was most useful, as was the items posted by everyone. Thanks guys.
Also Gazwood for first post?0 -
It would be interesting to see how much people have saved minus the initial outlay. Perhaps a separate thread where people can add to the total?0
