New Kitchen?

Looking round for new kitchen at the minute and wondered if anyone has any recommendations. We've been to Make, MacAuley Kitchens, B&Q, Homebase and Kitchens Direct NI. MacAuleys and Kitchens Direct probably the 2 best overall (although not necessarily cheapest). Anyone used either of these two or can recommend any others. House is in East Belfast and we're looking for a gloss door but don't want flatpack as had a disaster with this before. Thanks for any assistance.

I had to laugh at their website though. Spot the quality mistake!

Thanks. Will give Alexanders a call. I'm hoping the spelling mistake isn't an indication of quality of kitchens. I hate going into showrooms where the kitchens (and bathrooms!) or tiling has been really poorly put together. If they can't get their showroom displays right there's no way I would chance placing the order. MacAuley's showroom is very impressive but then Kitchens Direct (they'll no doubt claim it cuts overheads) don't even have a showroom which is a slight worry. Has anyone used them and if so what was the verdict? :money:

Hi there we are also planning a new kitchen and what I found helpful was finding pics of kitchens I like online then go to the manufacturer website and find your local supplier.Second nature has some lovely gloss ones and have seen them in many showrooms.

We got a kitchen last summer from Cherryhill Distribution at Dargan Crescent in Belfast and couldn't recommend them more. They make the kitchens on site and the quality is excellent. Good attention to detail with loads of door choices. Really good value for money as well. They have done kitchens for 2 friends since then and they have been delighted as well.

    Hi there
My name is Paul, I am a director in a small architectural practice based in Belfast - our firm has just taken on an agency for Nolte kitchens - Nolte are the 2nd biggest seeling kitchen in Germany. We have completed a lot of extensions and refurbishments over the last few years, many of which have involved creating new open plan living / dining / kitchen areas.
We dont have a glossy showroom, we dont employ "kitchen designers" and we buy direct from Germany, cutting out any middle men. We have found that our prices are very competitive for a top qualtity branded German Kitchen (on a level with Alno or Rational). On top of this our clients have the added benefit of having the kitchen designed by an architect with years of experience in residential projects.
Feel free to drop me a line if you want any more details
  • Is this allowed? Mind you sounds good...
  • I had a new kitchen planned and installed by these guys last year and rate them very highly.

My kitchen is smallish but really difficult layout, and the designer Geoff drew up lots of different layout to utilise the most of the space. Units and doors fantastic, as were all of the fittings. He called to the house for all our enquiries, and the fitting and planning were flawless! One day, empty room, the next a brand new kitchen!

He really knows what looks good, and has plenty of examples of past work. Check out the website....

And price was the best I could find, and defo worth it for better quality materials compared to flat pack stuff. :money:
