Out of warrenty - but manufacture defect?

Tumble Dryer (expensive one), 4 yrs old. Reciepts etc kept. Drum failed this week (the metal sheared where the bolts fit). As a result this wash damage several items (torn by the sharp metal).
If you were to see the dryer it is like new, and had little use (but is needed on occasions). It is I am confident a manufacture / material defect.
I will contact the company by phone to discuss. I am not interested in any compensation for the items ruined, but would like the drum replaced.
Do I have ANY consumer rights in this instance?
Thankyou for any help!

google the model , look for regular posts mentioning the same fault, if none I suspect you don't have a chanceEx forum ambassador

Apart from what Browntoa says about googling, then you dont have a leg to stand on after 4 years.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Unless you can prove it was a manufacturing fault (not wear & tear/poor maintenance), then no. And the likelihood of being able to prove it after four years is fairly slim.
However, as I always say, it never hurts to try!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
