Laminate flooring advise

I would agree with yumyums and would recommend the quickstep flooring. We've got it in our hall and we're installing it in our kitchen/diner/lounge area.
We've had builders in for the last 4 weeks and the stuff in the hall had taken a beating. Gave it a good clean up last night and apart from one board that's scratched it's come up looking like new.
I'm not a big fan of laminate but this stuff is good and would definately recommend it. The quickstep stuff seems to be between about 10-£30 sqm depending on the type you want (i think they do about 10 types)0 -
The quality of the floor with Quick Step is not directly connected to the price btw. The more expensive floors tend to be the ones with a smaller plank. Smaller plank = more edges - more edges = more manufacturing work. Also the V-grooves add cost to make.
The Pergo V-groove is a lot shallower than the others, with some cunning shading to make it look deep. You get the best of both worlds - the look of the v-groove, but the practically of a smooth floor. Smooth floors being easier to sweep clean.
The v-groove also has another advantage, they tend to accumulate the dust/dirt. Sounds counter-intuative but the dust/dirt is going onto the floor anyway, and it is better to have it in the groove than anywhere else, as sand etc can be very abrasive. You just sweep it out of the groove when you do the cleaning.Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0
