starting problems

Please advise some times when i go to start my vehicle i turn the key and all i get is a click noise other times no problem. when it only clicks I turn the key of then on and keep doing it of and on eventually it will start.Thought it was a loose wire done this and still problem occurs. The problem happened at christmas time and stopped car has been ok for couple of months now doing it again. Can any one advise please.

Seems like the starter motor's on it's way out or a sticking solenoid.

my car is doing exact same thing normally i can turn it off and then on and next time it starts fine its been like this for bout a year now. on my car . wish i n ew what it was but cant afford investigation repair at moment

I agree it sounds like the starter motor. The van I drive at work has the same problem. Boss won't fix it though until it goes completely. And you can guess who will be driving it when it does!!
