hi all,

Im guess betfred have this covered but i think its kinda discraceful myself. Im a relatively new member there and THOUGHT my winnings were safe
let me explain, i have 2 different ways to deposit, my debit card and paypal.
this particular time i was playing the slots and was winning a little bit here and there. what i tried to do was withdraw some of my winnings in the same fashion (as i do at betfair) to my debit card, £10 here, £20 there up to a value of about £100.
Now i play with the auto start feature as its easier and i can nip and make a cuppa as im playing etc.
anyways when i come back my accounts up which i presume is winnings. you guessed it betfred had actually cancelled the withdrawal and put it into my account again. My card details and paypal details are both correct. I found this pretty awful as you would presume your money should be "safe" when withdrawing especially if you know your details are correct.
once i complained they said that what had happened was that the origial deposit was from paypal and they cancelled my withdrawal to my card as it has to go to paypal too. They did email me ( how the hell you see that whilst your still playing i dont know) to say the above.
anyway today i checked a withdrawal i had made from yesterday to my paypal and asked the customer service lady in live chat how long it took to show in my account. anyways it turns out that i again had made a similar mistake ( the other way round) only this time they cancelled the paypal withdrawl and automatically made it a withdrawal to my card. am i wrong in feeling aggrieved that if this had happened previously my money i thought i had won would have been "safe" too?

ok rant over!

sorry if ive posted in the wrong section too..pleasw feel free to move it mods if you need to.
many thanks

Hi although your thread is a bit confusing I think I know what you mean.
As you are using different methods to pay in and withdraw the way it works is they must withdraw back to the first payment method.
Lets say you use a card to pay in £50 and then your paypal to pay in £40. Now when you withdraw the first £50 must go back to the card, if you tried to pay it back to paypal this would be rejected. You can only withdraw back in the order of your pay ins. It would be confusing if you are paying in regular and find it hard to keep track of what your using and when, they will of course know so if you get it wrong they will reject it and tell you.
The only way you can pick and choose where the withdrawal goes is if it's pure winnings and all the pay ins have been paid back first, then anything else can go where you want. It's all to do with fraud, and money laundering laws.
