Hi!
I'm can't log on to my user profile on the Home PC. I am the adminstrator.
I've got work on there which was due in on Friday:eek::eek:
It just says The User Profile Service failed the logon.
User Profile cannot be loaded.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

seems to be Vista ??

you are looking at option 1 or option 2
suspect option 2 may be the answer for you , copy your data to a new profile
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215
if yours is the only user profile on the PC you need to boot into safe mode
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm
and then choose the Adminstrator user profile that will appear (should not have a password unless you set one !!)
add a new user profile and then restart and log onto the new profileEx forum ambassador

I had this awhile ago with Windows 7 / 64 bit. My user profile as Admintrator had disappeared, so it couldn't load it.
Able to access PC via a non administrator account, but wasn't allowed to do anything about it as a result.
Did a reinstall from a back up, and created another Administrator account called "back door", which will allow me to access via that if it happens again.
Windows 7 is a pain. I've had other files disappearing too, notably from my genealogy files. I've just replaced them from my back-ups.
Whether they have become 'hidden files' I don't know, because I just restore them.0 -
In fact, having mentioned it, I'll see if I have the files twice now, one hidden, and one normal.
Update:
Just checked and I already have 'show hidden files' checked, so they HAVE disappeared.0 -
The kids have now told me that a message flashed up saying I had a time limit to change my password but I didn't see it . . .
Maybe thats why I can't log on . .
Back door i s a great idea - wish I'd thought of that . .
For some reason the pc won't run a backup either! One life.0
