Too soon to put an offer in?

My husband and I have just put our house on the market a week ago. We have had two viewers. One has said they loved it and were deciding between ours and another and the other viewer said they will want to buy it when they have sold theirs. We are in a desirable area and I don't expect it to take long to sell our house and neither do the agents, but who knows?!

We have found our dream house and want to put an offer in. Is this wise as we have not yet got a buyer for ours? Will the offer be rejected automatically on the grounds that we are not ready to move. Although the sellers have not yet found the property they are wanting to move to. If the offer was accepted we would request for it to be taken off the market, is this something they would laugh at as we haven't sold yet?

We love the house and don't want to miss out if someone else puts an offer in first and asks for it to be taken off the market. It has only been on the market a couple of weeks so could be getting quite a few viewers.

Thanks in advance!

Calm down. There is another thread with a similar subject and the advice is to wait. You can go around making offers, they will not be accepted and it is a far distant dream to expect them to take their house off the market to wait for someone they don't know to sell theirs instead. Their EA will reject the idea immediately - and if you apply common sense, would you put all your eggs in one basket by taking your house off the market now based on that viewer you already had that would buy once they had sold theirs? Or would you prefer to keep your options open?

You are likely to offer higher than you need to in desperation. And for fear of plagiarising Pastures New's comment on the other thread, if they get a proceedable offer, you will be forgotten immediately. You will gain nothing by playing your hand.

This is a very unpredictable market and there seem to be a lot of people out viewing but not making the decision to move. It really is best to hold off viewing until you are in a proceedable position so that you aren't disappointed. If you found something perfect this quickly in a market where there isn't all that much for sale, then another will turn up equally fast even if you are disappointed, which you might not be! It's normal to worry that they will sell to someone else, but you have just as much chance of selling first.

Housing market is going to crash! And people who are dumb enough to "fall in love with a house" are the ones who will be burnt!
I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j

    Almost certainly.

I wouldn't consider an offer from someone who had not sold their house, and I would want details of the rest of the chain too including proof of finance. Once bitten, twice shy!!
