Barclaycard BT.. now missed a payment, what to do?

Hi, having recently transferred a balance to my barclaycard in the last month, I have just logged on to discover that I have missed a payment, I am currently 3 days late, it is recorded on my account.
Now I have just screwed the 0% interest offer up, all because of a £20 payment whic I do have but must have genuinely thought had been paid.
I have not missed payments, paid late before and am really annoyed at myself.

Do you think if I rang them I could get this "mistake" rectified? as I dont want;
1; the interest rate
2: a dent in my credit rating.

What do you think?
Debt 2007 = £30,000
Debt Aug 2012 = £600
Debt Jan 2014 = £15,000 :(

Phone them, be nice, apologize for the oversight and send a payment instantly (preferable Faster Payment).

Ask them to re-instate the 0% deal (which probably has lapsed by now). They might, or they might not do that.

    It’s up to them.

Hark! Is that the "should have signed a DD brigade" I hear? They'll arrive shortly...

Obviously you should make a payment right away - debit card on the BC site would be best.

You may find it won't be reported to CRAs anyway - depends when they do their reporting.

Else just be very friendly and nice - ask them if they can re-instate. Whilst still being nice, mention you would transfer the balance elsewhere if they can't do a deal. Quote any competing deals you've had offered from elsewhere.

If you don't get the answer you want, perhaps try again a bit later. For people thinking of cancelling they used to transfer you to another department (loyalty?) who had more power to do deals.

The only thing is that the option to pay this month has passed, online it now gives me the option to pay next months bill, along with a late payment charge and a whopping amount of interest.

I will ring them now, and yes I should have set up a DD.

    Fingers crossed.

Paid the minimum for this month, called them up and they have removed the charge amount and reset the interest rate!

    Result!
    Debt 2007 = £30,000
    Debt Aug 2012 = £600
    Debt Jan 2014 = £15,000 :(
