Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 13th March 2011

Hello everyone . Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.

Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Morning all

I was green for last week which is good and I notice we have all greens so far. Well done everyone.

I am going for £50 this week as there are 2 weeks left until payday and I have £100 left in my spends account. This month seems to be working out quite well I just need to keep it up for another 2 weeks:D

The first post should have all results and pledges from last week but left me know if I have missed anything.

Im always lurking so im going to give this a go, we weekly spend budget is £70 this week probably would of been less but weve been living out of the freezer so it needs filled up again and we need petrol

Please could you put me down for £75, this will include the £50 that I will have to pay the childminder this week. I'm working two night shifts this week and have an awful habit of popping to Tesco on the way home, usually to get milk/bread etc, but coming out with some kind of junk food.

I'm hoping to tie this in with my goal to lose weight, I've put on nearly two stone in the last year and a bit.

No spends to report for me today as I haven't left the house as I have a cold and am feeling a bit sorry for myself. But lovely OH is making me a tasty dinner.

Hello everyone, sorry not been around for a few weeks - been unwell and ended up REALLY behind with Uni work & didn't want to log-in to the boards until I'd got caught up (I never get any work done otherwise)!

Hope everyone's OK and glad spring is on the way (not that you'd know it here as it was snowing yesterday)!

On the mend & last Uni module (in this section) done so free as a bird at the minute.

It's been very strange not having to do any studying for a whole week (was doing distance learning so didn't have hols) and I think I'm going to be bored in a couple of weeks!

Anyway, hope you'll have me back - Pointy, please put me down for £10 this week (for everything) - cupboards full & 3/4 tank fuel so really shouldn't need to buy anything!

Right, can I join please? My challenge for the week will be £70, and that is between me and my partner, we have a meal out tomorrow and Wednesday, but otherwise I cant think of anything. So no stopping at shops on way home, or getting bus to work I think (please don't rain). . .
