I've been using this one for a couple of years now. Compared with the rest of the range it is relatively inexpensive ( but still not cheap!). I buy it mail order but it isn't much cheaper that way.

Holland & Barrett sell a Hylauronic acid based cream but the level of active ingredient seems very low.

Where do you buy it from? Do you combine it with anything else from the range? It mentions combining with vitamin C?

Glowgirl, you obviously did a fair bit of internet research, have you thought though of asking about the product and similar on a dedicated beauty forum?
  • I started using HA about 2 years ago after breaking my wrist to help with joint stiffness. I found it very effective - infact, after a while I noticed that the morning stiffness I used to feel in my feet on first waking massively improved and as I wasn't taking any other supplements I can only put this down to HA. Whilst my primary reason for taking HA is more for my joints I can say that my skin has benefited too:) the few wrinkles I had seemed to soften up and very few have developed since taking HA. It is the only supplement I faithfully take. If you know anyone going to the states or have friends there it is a lot lot cheaper to buy it there ( I use Amazon.com) and get them to ship it over.

I did about an hours research on saturday night when I had a bit of time, I have a lot of things going on atm so dont really have any spare time to hunt down specialist forums etc, I can usually find the answers I want on here anyway:)

I was in H&B this morning, my local shop is so small there is only a selection of products, I saw the HA and vit c caps but didnt buy them maybe I should of after reading chicks post:o, I really want some with collagen though - thanks for all the help everyone:)

I used one from UNT in the past but think I was too young to see any difference. It would be a different story now! This is their site and one of their hyaluronic acid products but I haven't used this exact product myself so can't vouch for it. http://www.shopunt.com/eng/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?id=471&Name=AQUA+FORTIS

When I type in amazon.com in the browser bar it does offer to switch me to amazon.uk but I just stay on the US site. It accepts my UK sign in details too and the good thing is you can pay with a UK card. Only thing is, with items like supplements it will not ship to the UK which is why you need to know someone out there or someone going out there for a trip who can take the delivery then ship /or bring back to you.

I just type in Hyaluaronic Acid in the search bar and it brings up all the products. I think it's an expensive supplement in the UK but is much cheaper in the US taking into account the exchange rate etc

I buy supplements from iherb.com in the US because they are so much cheaper than in the UK, plus you get stuff that's not sold here. Just had a look and they do hyaluronic acid as well, including serums and tablets with collagen. Be aware though that you might have to pay customs and excise duties if your order exceeds a certain value (not sure how much, should be on HMRC website).

Found it (sorry, not allowed to post proper links):
    www. hmrc. gov. uk /customs/post/buying.htm

If you order or send purchased goods other than alcohol, tobacco, perfume and toilet water from a country outside the EU then you:

    * don't have to pay Excise Duty
    * may have to pay Customs Duty on goods with a value that exceeds £135
    * will have to pay Import VAT on goods with a value that exceeds £18

Note that on all goods from outside the EU, Customs Duty is waived if the amount of duty calculated is £9 or under.
