Not Christmas but I ahve a friend who will be 50 this montha nd I want to put together a 'Golden' themed hamper for her. I know I could go down the Gold Blend, golden syrup route but want to make it a bit more luxurious. So far I have got some ferraro rocher chocolates (a bit kitsch but will look good!) and some gold bath pearls but have come to a standstill - any other ideas????

some gold jewellery? or gold coloured jewellery? gold hand mirror? gold lipstick case? you could like the hamper with gold tinsel - even though I know you said it's not a christmas gift, would still look nice. You could get gold blend and make up a mug set with a gold coloured mug (sure I saw some in wilko), maybe a gold coloured spoon, if you can find them, they all tend to be silver coloured don't they?
That's all I can think of at the mo!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

£2 savers club: £60!0 -
Next have some nice wine glasses with subtle gold swirls on them - they're a bit expensive at £17.99 for 4 but other places might have similar for a bit less money."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

For making it look Christmassy - gold foil wrapped chocolate coins? Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.0

or if you're a bit arty, you could by cheaper plain glass and decorate with gold glass paint? You could also get gold coloured candles, or just tea-lights in small glass (which you can also decorate yourself)- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

does it have to be gold, you could wrap other things in gold paper."Don't go where the path may lead,go where there is no path and leave a trail"Anthony Robbins0

there is bound to be some gold candles about for xmas or maybe tealight holders
LUSH do a bath bomb with gold shimmery stuff in it (I think it might be called golden slumbers but I could be making that up!)
you might be able to find a gold organza type of scarf/wrap for dressy occasions
if you are looking for gold spoons you can often get gold-coloured plastic spoons and could dip them in melted chocolate to make those chocolate stirrers0 -
Thanks people - some lovely ideas. I am off to my local fabric wwarehouse this afternoon for some organaza and will hit Wilko and the pound shop at the weekend!!!0

How about a bottle of wine with some gold ribbon around it, you can also get useful things like gold coloured face cloth, or bubble bath (Christmas theme) - what a lovely idea, I'm sure your friend will love the thought you have put into it.:T0

Try your local pharmacy ,, sounds odd I know but they often have these sort of things in them0
