How to Source and Install Drivers For A Clean Install?

XP doesn't have native SATA drivers, at some stage, F6 to install drivers from floppy etc.Move along, nothing to see.0

XP doesn't have native SATA drivers, at some stage, F6 to install drivers from floppy etc.
During the start of the XP install, it asks me to press F6 if I want to install a SATA RAID configuration (or similar message). I had ignored that-should I do that and insert the motherboard driver CD at that stage then?
I'm still not clear what SATA type I should have set in the BIOS SATA controller? The 3 options are:
Native IDE (default)
RAID
AHCI
The mobo manual is not very much help, as it's written throughout assuming that the installed OS will be Vista.No free lunch, and no free laptop
