Repair Creda Tumble Dryer

Hi, can someone help, My Creda T322VW Tumble Dryer is working but no heat, I took the back off to see if there is a restart button, none found, while there I removed any fluff.

I am now trying to remove the case but it is held fast at the top, I think there may be some screws behind the knob but I am unable to pull the knob off to see, is there an easy way to do this, the knob is the sort that is set in not sticking out.

Thanking you in advance Drinda.

Unplug the appliance from the wall socket and turn the machine around.
Take of the panel on the rear to expose the element.
Visually check the element to see if it's blown, also check the wiring.
On top of the element are 2 thermostats.
You'll need access to and be able to use a multimeter to test these.
Check them to see if they are open circuit. If they are, look on the one with the dot to see if there is a hole on the back of it, if there is, use a pin to gently reset it.
If no hole, you need to replace the thermostats.
If you don't have a multimeter, the non technical way to test is to take the thermostat off, shake it, if it rattles it's ok.

Once repaired, ensure the filters and airways are clean and clear, if you are using a vent hose, ensure this is clean and clear too.

    Hope this helps.
    Good luck with the repair.
    Thanks
  • Had problem with my Hotpoint not so long back turned out to be thermostat. Think Creda and Hotpoint same.

    Found this video very good

Took about 10 minutes to replace saved about £70.
This link gives you list of Thermostat Kits

Hope this is of some use

Thank you for the replies, but as I said we have had the back off, but can't get to anything other than the fan that is at the bottom.
I have a Haynes washing machine and Dryer repair book, it shows a differant modle and it said we have to take the case off, this case is sides and top all in one, I have undone the screws and it is loose all round but not along the top front where the knob is the book says there are screws behind the knob but the knob won't pull off.
  • Just looke don You Tube and they are showing the same video as previously posted.
