Legal protection

Is legal protection necessary when taking out home insurance ?
Anyone ever make use of the extra cover or is it just a waste of money ?
Cheers

I don't know of anyone who's used it tbh. However, I have seen on here a fair few times people saying to other posters 'have you got Legal cover on your home insurance?' for things like employment disputes, neighbour issues et al. Doesn't have to be house-related AFAIK if you do want to claim.
Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I certainly think it's worth it because I am a cyclist and it would cover my legal costs if I were in an accident and wanted to pursue someone.
Yes sure if there was a juice personal injury case then the ambulance chasers would be there but if it were a wheel and a pair of jeans then you won't get a "no win no fee" deal.
I do know people who have used it in a consumer dispute (over a vehicle).
I have also used it before for speaking to a solicitor. Boards like this are great, but sometimes you need professional advice.

You may well not use it for years, but do you want to take the risk of being without it?
