We did our local parkrun earlier and just wanted to tell everyone what a wonderful experience it is.
parkrun is an organistaion that arranges free 5K timed runs in local parks around the country.
It is a pleasure to attend my local run in Barnsley as the other runners and organisers are so friendly and sociable. It has given me and the wife and kids a new interest in running and gets us up and out ready for our weekly Saturday 9am run.
The runs are entirely free and you get your results and photos up on their website usually on the same day. They have even awarded my daughter a free Nike T Shirt for doing her 10th run today. (how's that for money saving?)
Volunteers turn out every week to make the runs the success they are. Well done and thanks to them all! :T
